"...keep my stress level in check."
Why I Took The ProgramA friend of mine told me about Habit Changer and I found myself drawn to the stress program. Even though I taught stress management, I'm always open to ideas that will help me recognize the self-talk that can lead me down a path of heightened stress. So I decided to try the "Stop Stressing" program.
End ResultI really liked the self-observing that Habit Changer daily reminders and exercises offered me. It kept me on my toes, kept me thinking about what precipitates stress in my life, and helped me change some habitual thinking that has created a state of stress. I also appreciated that the daily examples Habit Changer offered were realistic and typically situations I could relate to.
On Day 30, "Ride Your Emotions", I was reminded that it is ok to not know what to do. I have always prided myself on being able to fix any situation and yet not all situations are fixable, or at least not immediately so. Which has always caused me stress. By learning to give myself permission to not immediately know how to proceed, and to trust that I will figure out how to deal with the situation, I have learned how to create a bit of space between me and the situation. That allowed me to let go, to open to ideas and resources I'd never have thought of, and to gain increased faith in my ability to make good decisions by the time the decision needs to be made.
I especially like that Habit Changer is a program that I can reconnect with as new situations in my life arise to keep my stress level in check. It offers skills, paths to insights and support that I have found very useful as I meet life's challenges. Thank you for making Habit Changer available.
